Altoosi University was established as the first step in a project dedicated to spreading authentic Islamic thought and working towards the integration of Islamic principles into various fields of knowledge. The university aims to contribute significantly to the scientific, cultural, and educational landscape by creating enlightened professionals who combine modern knowledge with Islamic heritage, fostering contemporary scientific values rooted in Islamic tradition.
Founded in 2005, Altoosi University College initially comprised three departments: Quranic Studies, Fundamentals of Religion, and Islamic Mission. It was officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research through official letters dated November 30, 2005 and August 9, 2006. In 2010, the Department of Islamic Education was added, followed by the Department of Pathology and Nursing in subsequent years. Between 2022 and 2023, new departments were introduced, including English Language, Law, Computer Science, Physical Education and Sports Science, and Primary Education. In 2024, Altoosi University College was officially upgraded to Altoosi University. Future plans include the establishment of engineering and medical departments.
Since its inception, Altoosi University has focused on enhancing the academic and educational standards in Iraq. The university actively participates in scientific conferences and hosts seminars in various fields to improve the academic quality of its students, preparing them to keep pace with the country’s intellectual and cultural development.

Additionally, Altoosi University prioritizes student activities and provides a robust academic and administrative team, including faculty members with PhD and Master’s degrees.
